The Punk/ Hardcore community claims they are anti-establishment, anti-corporatist, and anti-war. If this is true, then they should strongly consider supporting (I didn’t say voting) for Ron Paul.

Ron Paul is Anti-Establishment

Ron Paul is by far the most radical member in congress. Back in the seventies, Ron Paul had anarchist Lew Rockwell as his congressional aid. Lew Rockwell claimed that he and Ron Paul used Ron’s seat in the House of Representatives as a platform to spread the message of radical libertarianism. Lew said in a recent interview that he recently “cleaned himself up” and would never have anything to do with the U.S. government ever again.

Ron Paul has allied himself with many other anarchists throughout his career. In his early years he was close allies with individual anarchist Murray Rothbard. Ron Paul has supported Murray Rothbard, Lysander Spooner, and many other 19th and 20th century anarchists in his writings and books throughout the years. He is the only presidential candidate to stand up for wikileaks

Ron Paul stated in an interview that he is currently working toward a constitutional republic, but a stateless society would be his ultimate goal. Ron Paul advocates voluntary communities where people of any political belief can come together and live their lives without any government intrusion.

Ron Paul believes in letting individuals opt out of the entire system. He believes you should be able to pay no federal taxes and be able to live a federal government-free life.

Ron Paul has been the leading voice in America against the U.S. central bank. America’s central bank, from the beginning of it’s existence has been an institution of corruption and government expansion. J.P Morgan and many other bankers and corporatists of the late 19th and early 20th century pushed long and hard for the creation of the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve is by far the most powerful institution on Earth. It is the center of large amounts of corruption and is the enemy of the middle class. Ron Paul is calling for its abolition.

Ron Paul gets almost no funds from corporations or any other special interests. Ron Paul believes principle is more important than big money, power, or a good reputation. There are reasons why the state-media won’t cover his campaign.

Ron Paul is Anti-War

Ron Paul is the only candidate running for president who strongly opposes U.S. military operations overseas. He and several on the left have been the leading advocates in congress for an anti-imperialist, anti-war, pro-peace foreign policy.

Ron Paul voted for the impeachment investigation of President Bush for lying about weapons of mass destruction. Ron Paul has been booed at many republican debates for his strong opposition to U.S. presence overseas.

When asked about his belief in abolishing the CIA, IRS, Federal Reserve, and Department of Homeland Security in a republican presidential debate, Ron Paul was laughed at by the entire room. He didn’t back down.

Ron Paul is opposed to torture, secret prisons, assassinations, and any war that isn’t fought in self defense. Ron Paul recently spoke out against Obama’s assassination of an American citizen as an impeachable offense.

Conclusion

Many of the things Ron Paul advocates is shared by the Left. Obama lied about everything he campaigned on, and has been far worse than Bush. If the punk community and the left want to accomplish as many of their goals as they can within the next few years, then they should consider supporting Ron Paul. Some hardcore bands are already doing it.

Even though Ron Paul and the punk/ hardcore community clearly have some major disagreements, he is closest thing they have got. Obama has brought no change and no hope.

Louis Crucius (or Crusius) . The Antikamnia Chemical Company.
After beginning his working life as a printer’s apprentice, Louis Crucius (or Crusius) completed the necessary requirements to graduate as a pharmacist in 1882 and a doctor in 1890 in St Louis, Missouri. While he was studying he worked in a pharmacy and made humorous sketches that were placed in the window of the store. A collection of these drawings was published in 1893 (‘Funny Bones’). He lectured in histology and anatomy and eventually came to be a Professor of Anatomy but died in 1898 from kidney tumours.Although he gave most of his drawings away, Crucius sold a number of them to the Antikamnia (‘opposed to pain’) Chemical Company which had been established in St Louis in 1890. They produced antikamnia medicines containing the coal tar derivative, acetanilid, an anti-fever drug with pain relieving properties somewhat related to paracetamol, but which would be later shown to be a toxic compound not to mention addictive. Antikamnia was mixed with substances like codeine and quinine to enhance the pain relieving effects.30 of the Crucius ‘dance of death’-inspired drawings were used to make 5 years worth of Antikamnia Chemical Company calendars - between 1897 and 1901. They had a fairly aggressive marketing campaign in which the calendars (aimed at the medical fraternity) as well as postcards and sample packs were distributed to doctors in the United States and overseas. And that would be it, for this year, at least. You died too young, Joe. I miss you.
